Heather
Green was born in Raleigh, North
Carolina where she began singing
in church at age four. Heather's
knack for entertaining first
presented itself at age seven,
when she performed and recorded
her first music video in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina. From that
point forward, Heather's interest
in music grew beyond simply
singing. She discovered she loved
to perform.
Over
the next few years Heather began
taking voice lessons and learned
how to sing harmony while
mimicking her mom as they sang in
the car. By the time Heather made
it to High School, she was
actively participating in school
and church choir, plays, and a
five-girl acapella group called
Undivided. It was during these
years that Heather first began
teaching herself guitar and
writing poems.
After
High School, Heather went on to
receive an Associates in
Biological Science and began
studying for a Bachelor's degree
in Biology (with a minor in
Genetics) at NC State University.
She continued singing in college
chorus productions, dinner
theatre and church choirs. She
soon found herself putting music
to her poems and turning them
into songs.
In
the summer of 1998, after years
of vocal coaching, chorus
productions and winning countless
karaoke contests, Heather decided
to make the move to Nashville.
While in Nashville, Heather
performed for several years at
venues such as: The Bluebird, The
Gibson, The Wildhorse Saloon,
Legends, The Boardwalk and
Douglas Corner. Heather even had
the opportunity to perform at the
Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic
Party in Raleigh, NC for such
celebrities as Rick Flair,
Meadowlark Lemon, Gale Sayers,
Dick Vitale and an array of Soap
Opera stars (featured on ESPN).
In
2000, Heather decided to
capitalize on all her God given
talents. Modeling since she was
fifteen, Heather realized there
was a fine line between the music
and modeling industries. So she
signed with several
modeling/talent agencies and
began auditioning for music
videos, comercials and movies.
Her hard work soon paid off when
she landed a role in Cledus T.
Judd's music video, "Plowboy",
the lead role in Diamond Rio's #1
video, "Beautiful Mess", a
guitarist and back up singer role
in a 2003 State Farm Insurance
Commercial, and most recently as
a featured dancer with Ewan
McGregor in the #1 movie "Big
Fish".
From
the summer of 2000 to the summer
of 2004, Heather lived in
Huntsville, AL and traveled
weekly to Nashville, Atlanta
& Birmingham for music and
modeling gigs. She completed her
demo CD in August of 2002, and
soon sparked the interest of Gary
Baker ("I Swear", "I'm Already
There") & Walt Aldridge
("Modern Day Bonnie & Clyde")
of "The Produce Section" in
Muscle Shoals, AL. Heather
recorded the first song on her CD
Sampler ,"Your Side of Town",
with Gary Baker.
In
March of 2004, Heather was chosen
as one of the top 20 contestants
on the hit USA TV series,
Nashville Star.
June
1st of 2004, Heather became 94.7
FM's official morning show
co-host. After signing a 2 year
contract with WQDR Heather moved
back to her home town of Raleigh,
NC. Singing and talking to
audiences of thousands each
morning, Heather has fallen in
love with yet another form of the
music business and thanks God for
allowing her to live her
dream.
With
her striking appearance, angelic
vocals, unforgettable songs and
all around fun personality, it is
certain Heather Green has a
permanent home in Country Music.
